Tools and methods to avoid slipping into greenwashing
Greenwashing is a practice whereby a company, entity or institution uses misleading or deceptive messages to make its products or services appear green, sustainable or environmentally friendly, without this corresponding to reality. The aim is to exploit theincreased environmental awareness among consumers to increase sales and improve the company's image, without making any real effort to reduce the environmental impact of its activities.
The aim of the course is to introduce the topic of greenwashing and demonstrate that it is not just a marketing issue but a complex topic that, as such, requires a comprehensive approach and the involvement of a team with different skills.
At the end of the course you will be able to analyse, through a evaluation checklistwhether an environmental communication is correct or whether there are areas of possible greenwashing. A useful tool to assess one's own communication and that of competitors.
