GREENWASHING DESK

GREENWASHING OBSERVATORY

The Greenwashing Observatory is an initiative of ITER and MAPPING LCA to provide concrete and documented answers to companies' questions and requests. The aim is to provide information support and guidance to companies, enabling them to gain clarity and promote greater transparency in the sector.

The Observatory makes it possible to handle enquiries and reports on Greenwashing: companies will then be able to ask questions about their own communications, or report competitors' advertising campaigns deemed misleading that could conceal unsustainable or even environmentally harmful practices.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Operation of the service is simple. Simply fill in the report form, which includes:
  • your personal data
  • the reason for the report (communication from the company or a competitor) and a brief description
  • any links or attached documents.
You will receive a response directly from the Scientific Committee or, in the case of more complex reports, you will be contacted for further investigation.

SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE: MAPPING LCA

MAPPING LCA boasts the collaboration of:

    • two universities: the University of Milan - AGRIFOOD LCA Laboratory and the University of Trieste - Molecular Biology and Nanotechnology Laboratory
    • a consultancy company: Quota Sette S.r.l.
    • an independent auditor (listed in the IES list of independent auditors): Engineer Paolo Simon Ostan
    • 13 manufacturing companies (of which 11 are multinationals) in the chemical, plastics, metal, shipbuilding, paper and furniture sectors
    • 3 test laboratories: in the plastics, food contact materials and furniture sectors.
The organisation is structured through a technical-scientific committee, in which the two universities, leading LCA experts, and a technical secretary are represented.

COST
